# Drive unconverted deliverable upload

Recipe for uploading files to Google Drive. Schedules and weekly indexes belong in a **routine**, not here.

## Size rules (do not confuse)

- **Default:** upload **unconverted** (`convertToGoogleFormat: false` / equivalent).
- **50 MB** applies only when converting text into **Google Docs** (also ≤ ~1.02M characters).
- **~100 MB** applies to conversion into **Google Slides** / **Sheets** (Sheets also cell limits).
- **Unconverted** files (PDF, Office, video, images, archives, code, etc.) follow the account’s “all other files” quota — not the 50 MB Docs conversion cap.
- **Never** recompress, split, or downscale solely to dodge a misunderstood 50 MB “hard cap”.

## Steps

1. Identify destination folder (e.g. that bot’s drafts folder). Create the subfolder only if standing practice requires it and the parent folder is known.
2. Prefer the Drive upload tool (`UploadFile` or connector equivalent) with **unconverted** / `convertToGoogleFormat: false` unless the user explicitly asked for Docs/Sheets/Slides.
3. If the file is within the upload tool’s size limit (~100 MB for some tools), upload. Record file id and view URL.
4. If the tool fails on size or auth after a genuine attempt, use **one** browser upload of the **original** file. Do not recompress or split for size.
5. Append a short handoff or index note: what uploaded, what skipped, what was already on Drive.
6. Optional: copy the same relative path to the user’s local shared workspace mirror folder. If local-tool access is denied, note the failure and do **not** block the Drive upload.
7. Do not trash, overwrite, or delete operator Drive files without an explicit ask.

## Guardrails

- Upload Working Drafts when standing instructions say to — do not wait for “operator Approved” if that rule is in force.
- Conversion is opt-in; binary as-is is the default.
- Report the **observed** state (uploaded / tool-failed / browser-uploaded / blocked), never a vague “done”.
